Which networks are publishing

Each authority runs its own telemetry and publishes on its own schedule. This is the last reading each one released — so when a network goes quiet, you can see it here rather than mistake it for a calm river.

How this is sourced

Observations, not forecasts
Every figure here is a satellite measurement or a gauge reading. Nothing on this site predicts where a fire will go or how high a river will get. Where a prediction would be useful but is not good enough to act on, we leave it off rather than dress it up.
Provisional, at agency cadence
Sources publish on their own schedules — roughly every 15 minutes for the Ebro, hourly for Galicia, hourly for satellite detections. Readings are provisional and get revised. We show the last thing each network published, and when.
Not an emergency service
A reference, not a warning system. It does not replace Civil Protection, the hydrological authorities or the fire services. In an emergency, call 112 and follow official guidance.
Smoke-layer accuracy
Checked against AERONET ground instruments, which measure the same quantity directly: correlation 0.82, mean error 0.056 AOD across 3,117 station-hours at 10 stations over 30 days. The layer is bias-corrected onto that measured scale. Fire detections and burnt-area perimeters are not ours to score — NASA and Copernicus publish them as-is.
